Dear Music Lovers
We are particularly excited to welcome members of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra to the Baxter concert platform for our next recital taking place on Saturday 22 April. They will be repeating three works which featured at the Franschhoek Chamber Music Festival in February. The concert will open with the Pian e Forte by Gabrielli for brass ensemble and then will follow with Mendelssohn’s String Octet and Dvorak’s Serenade for Winds (with added cello and double bass).
For more indepth reading on the upcoming programme you can take a look at our latest Inside the Concert with Albert Combrink: https://www.ctconcerts.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Inside-the-Concert-22-April-2023.pdf
It is rare to be able to present three larger chamber works such as these on one programme, and you are invited to meet the musicians after the concert in the foyer where you can ask them about their music making. The orchestra is also currently busy preparing for their new season. There are two concerts coming up before ours on Thursday 13th and 20th April. More details below.
As always the Baxter bar and restaurant are open before and after the concert for refreshments. Tickets are on sale at https://www.webtickets.co.za/v2/Event.aspx?itemid=1524827524
Do contact if you have any queries and we look forward to welcoming you again to the Cape Town Concert Series.
Kind regards
Louise Howlett
