LOCKDOWN 4 – BAXTER CLOSED UNTIL SEPTEMBER

After two wonderful concerts in April and May, the Cape Town Concert Series is once again on hold for the duration of lockdown level 4, and the Baxter Concert Hall is closed until further notice.

The Cape Town Concert Series was founded in 1955, under the name of the Cape Town Concert Club, by Hans Kramer, his wife Greta, and businessman Boris Canin, to provide a platform in the Mother City for the finest international artists before the public at that time, artists whose recordings were available at Hans Kramer’s famous Home of Music in Long Street, the city’s largest (and, at one time, only) retailer of classical recordings. Admission to its performances was by membership only.
