The Cape Town Concert Series is proud to collaborate with the newly formed Cape Chamber Music Collective for the opening of the South African College of Music Concert Season on Tuesday 15 February.

The programme- appropriately named: Summer Nights – features an ensemble of artists who all have close connections to the college of music. Liesl Stoltz – flute, Shannon Thebus – horn, Cameron Williams – clarinet, Joshua Frank – oboe and Brandon Phillips on bassoon perform Samual Barber’s Summer Music for Wind Quintet. They will be joined by soprano Lynelle Kenned for a special arrangement of Berlioz’s Les Nuits d’ete. The programme also includes a world premiere of…. “that wintry summer of ’21/22” – a song cycle by jazz pianist Paul Hamner commissioned by the Chamber Collective as part of their mandate to support South African music.

The College of Music presents concerts every Tuesday evening through term time featuring a mix of rising star students, orchestras and staff events with some of Cape Town’s finest musicians.  The Cape Town Concert Series presents the finest quality chamber music and recitals and looks forward to complimenting its own season with more collaborations in the future.

The concerts starts at 7.15pm. Bookings are open at Webtickets with special ticket prices of R180 regular, R150 pensioners and R80 students. Students of the College of Music can attend for free.
