The Cape Town Concert Series completes the year with an International Festival of artists who will also be performing with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Cape Town Concert Series collaborates with the SA College of Music to present Daniel Ciobanu in Concert bringing the Concert Series to a rousing finale.

The Romanian pianist will present an exciting programme of  Schumann,  Jarrett, Liszt and more.

Wenneke Savenjie reported from his Amsterdam Concertgebouw Debut:

Ciobanu was born for music, but he is not a Romanian for nothing. Music is in his genes, and apart from technique, style and interpretation, it is about more substantial things, reflecting everything that can happen in the human mind. Bravura, ecstasy, anger, despair, playfulness, tenderness and orphaned abandonment were all to be heard in a breathtaking succession of directly appealing piano sounds.

The concert also includes a short in-conversation with Daniel where we can hear more about his music making and take questions from the audience.

The concert takes place at 7.30pm in the Baxter Concert Hall.

The Baxter bar and restaurant will be open before and after the performance for refreshments. Proceeds from this concert go towards future concerts of the Series.
