Dear Music Lovers

The Cape Town Concert Series brings a new artist to South Africa on Saturday 17th February with the debut of cellist Benedict Kloeckner. Already established across Europe and regarded as one of the outstanding cellists of his generation, he has been described by Daniel Barenboim as “Remarkable, really remarkable, perfect playing! Absolute control of technique, intonation and colour”

He will collaborate with one of South Africa’s finest pianists – Francois du Toit – for a programme called Fratres – (Latin for Brothers) with a work of that name by Arvo Part. There are also Sonatas by Beethoven and Grieg, a Polonaise by Dvorak and a specially commissioned short work by South African composer Bongani Ndodana-Breen.

For more insight into the programme, Albert Combrink has once again compiled some notes to take you Inside the Concert and you can find them here

The concert starts at 11am in the Baxter Concert Hall.  The concert is hosted by the Kramer Jubilee Concert Series Trust and held in memory of long time supporter Norman Sulcas who sadly passed away at the end of 2023.

Tickets are available from Webtickets with all proceeds going to the Trust to help with the long-term survival of the Concert Series.

We look forward to welcoming you once again to the Cape Town Concert Series. If you have any queries, do let us know.

Kind regards
Louise Howlett
