The brother-sister duo of Avigail and Ammiel Bushakevitz returns to Cape Town following the completion of their studies abroad: Avigail at The Julliard School of Music, New York, USA and Ammiel at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig, Germany.
Both were born in Jerusalem in the late 1980s, but grew up in South Africa, Ammiel having studied predominantly with Prof. Josef Stanford in Pretoria and Avigail with Prof Jack de Wet in Stellenbosch. After winning almost every award available to them in South Africa, they left the country to further studies abroad. It is hoped that South Africa will remain a popular concert destination for the two as international engagements begin to fill their respective diaries.
They will complete our first season with a popular mix of works by Bartok, Strauss, Schubert, Lutoslawski and more.
