Cape Town Concert Series welcomes back Jérôme Pernoo and Jérôme Ducros. Born in Nantes, France, Jérôme Pernoo studied with Germaine Fleury, Xavier Gagnepain and Philippe Muller (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris). He was prize winner at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow as well as at the Rostropovitch Competition in Paris. In 1996 he won First Prize at the Pretoria Cello Competition. He has since performed with major orchestras in France and across Europe. Since 1995 he has given recitals with the pianist Jérôme Ducros in some of the world's most renowned venues He has made a number of recordings, and is founder and artistic director of the Chamber Music Festival ''Les Vacances de Monsieur Haydn".
Also born in France, Jérôme Ducros studied the piano at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he was awarded First Prize with distinction. Since then, he has achieved a brilliant career, performing at prestigious venues from Paris to Tokyo through London, Geneva, Rome, Berlin and New York, both as soloist and as a highly appreciated chamber music partner. Jérôme Ducros is also a composer.
